NEQ Winter Driving School Update
Enjoying the balmy weather? Please do, but recognize it puts a serious damper on winter sports, including the NEQ Winter Driving Schools (WDSs).
We are cancelling the event scheduled for next Saturday, 1/14/02 on Lake Algonquin. We will be running other WDSs on 2/4 and 2/18.
All drivers confirmed or wait listed for the 1/14 event will have their registration or wait list status automatically transferred to the next event, now scheduled for February 4th, at a lake to be determined. (For possible lakes, please see below.)
If you are CONFIRMED but are unable to attend the 2/4 event, you will be issued a full refund or your registration will be transferred to the 2/18 event (see below) at your choice. If you choose to cancel, simply log back in to your MSR account and cancel. Your full registration fee will be put back on to your credit card or you will be issued a check in the full amount. If you do nothing your registration will be transferred to the 2/4 event. If you want to transfer your registration to the 2/18 event please send me an email so stating.
If you are WAIT LISTED for the 1/14 event your wait list status will be automatically transferred to the 2/4 event. If you are unable to attend that event but want to attend the 2/18 event (see below) please send me an email so stating.
All registrations and wait list registrations will be processed by the date and time of the first registration.
NEQ also plans to run another WDS on 2/18 and possibly another WDS at a date and location to be determined. These events may be held at one of the following lakes: Algonquin, Caroga, Candarago, Warner or Waneta. The first three are east of Albany, the fourth south of Rochester. The 2/4 event will most likely be held at one of the first three. The 2/18 event may be held at any of the four, or another lake to be determined. Please Google (Bing, etc.) those lakes for more details about them. Please use Trip Advisor or another service to find out more about the area, accommodations and other activities.
Henceforth, we will make every attempt to determine the location and the go/no go status of the events ten (10) days before the scheduled event. Everyone will be notified directly if they are registered or wait listed, or through ACNA and MSR if they are not.
The common element to all of these events is that we are at the whim of Mother Nature and only She can determine whether we can hold any of these events. An icy lake is a great venue to learn car control and practice winter driving schools but Mother Nature can make it a great event or take it away from us without notice. If any of you have any influence with Her (I don’t – I fact I think She is holding a grudge for some reason) please exercise your influence so we can enjoy great Winter Driving Schools.
