  4. What would you like to be famous for? The widespread education of active vs passive driving in daily life?
  5. What has been your favorite car you’ve owned and why? Split between my R53 Mini Cooper S and 01 TT.  The Mini is my hoodlum that has been through all life moments with me from high school and track adventures, to saying 'i do'.  Then, my TT is the car form of maturity.  When I get in it, I feel like I can conquer the world in style.
  6. What is your hidden talent? I bake some mean cookies.
  7. What kind of hobbies and interests do you have? When I am not on track, I love quilting.  Talk about opposite passions!
  8. Do you have a name for your current car? The TT is Vivian, the Mini is Charlie (named after the OG Italian Job) and the Coupe GT is Roxanne (she doesn't need to put on the red light tonight). We also have a E39 540 that we fittingly call Satan.
  9. If you could race at any racetrack in the world, which course would you pick? I would love to do a Pike Peak climb (in an S1 of course!)
  10. Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us? I spent way more time at race track bars than at college parties. May not be that surprising to people who have known me for a while, but still funny to think about.

  4. What would you like to be famous for?  On a serious note; Being a good and successful person throughout my life, and to helping and supporting others in their similar quest. On a fun note; a late in age discovered road racing master who eventually rises to drive and win an IMSA Championship.
  1. What has been your favorite car you’ve owned and why?  Porsche GT3. Just so much fun to drive on the track (in the past, no longer) and to tool around town as often as I can.
  2. What is your hidden talent?  HMMMMM, not quite sure on this one. I would say to my local friends that it was driving a racecar and that would be hidden talent to them. Audi NEQ club members already know that I do that. So what don’t NEQers know about me as a hidden talent; Honestly not sure that I have one.
  3. What kind of hobbies and interests do you have?  Road Racing at many tracks around the eastern half of the United States, plus COTA. I play a bunch of tennis, I work a lot, and love to travel and experience the world.
  4. Do you have a name for your current car?  Neh, I just refer to my car as “her” or “She”, like she is a real person, a very important one at that.
  5. If you could race at any racetrack in the world, which course would you pick?  I would have said COTA but I did that this past December. Now….Road America I guess. That will be done on May 7-9 at an endurance race with WRL.
  6. Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us?  This may not come as any surprise to many that know me at the track but for as much as I drive and race cars on track, I know very little when it come to the mechanics of it all.

  5. What has been your favorite car you’ve owned and why? 2011 S4 - Most reliable and fun car to drive as a daily driver (Sun, Rain or Snow) as well as on the track.  It is comfortable, room for 4, enough cargo space and also last of it’s kind with the manual transmission.
  6. What is your hidden talent? It’s well hidden and I have not discover it yet. Honestly, I think my ability to learn and absorb information gives me the ability to solve problems with out of the box solutions.

  8. Do you have a name for your current car? Nope.  But I do like the number 42
  9. If you could race at any racetrack in the world, which course would you pick? I would have to say Nürburgring because it is one of the longest and most challenging course.   Able to drive it properly at speed will require many hours of practice and concentration which I would love the opportunity.  I guess the next one would be LeMan because it is such an iconic racetrack.
  10. Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us? I have work more than half my life for the same company.  30 years on 1/2/2021.

Matt Wilson, Membership/ Committee Chair
Matt Wilson, Membership/ Committee Chair
  1. What is your name? Matt Wilson
  2. What is your NEQ Board position? I chair the Membership and Marketing Committee.
  3. What is your current Audi? We have a few. My first track car was a 2001 2.7 Twin Turbo S4. It’s been modified and has got stuck mid-modification and there it sits. I really need to get with Art Mayhew and the team at Salisbury Motor Car so we can get it finished. My wife and I both daily drive Audi’s too. She has a Q5 TDI, and I drive an A6 TDI. I love a torquey diesel.
  4. What would you like to be famous for? Ha too funny! This isn’t something I think about really. I’d be fine for going down as a “good dude”. I try to be thoughtful and do the right thing.
  5. What has been your favorite car you’ve owned and why? I’ve loved every car I’ve owned. I have to be honest I miss my 2004 (B6) Audi A4. It was such a great little car. Incredible in snow (better than any car I’ve ever driven) and such fun with a stage 2 APR tune, when that turbo kicked in. I traded it in for a newer A4 Avant, which I adored the look of, but I always missed the driving experience of the little B6 A4.
  6. What is your hidden talent? When I was a kid I used to be pretty handy at origami. It’s been a while, but I can still fold a frog out of a sheet of paper.
  7. What kind of hobbies and interests do you have? In the winter I love to ski. My 10-year-old son is also really into it and we ski at a similar level (although I must admit this year, he’s been braver than I am) so it’s been a great way to spend time with him and get out in the snow and get some exercise. We head up to Killington, Vermont as often as possible as it’s our favorite spot and it’s only a 3-hour drive.
  8. Do you have a name for your current car? My son has named all my cars. They are creatively named, Bluey, Blackie, and Stripey. Stripey is an understatement when it comes to describing the awesome vinyl wrap on my track car. Kudos to Anthony Rivara, the previous owner, on an epic choice.
  9. If you could race at any racetrack in the world, which course would you pick? If I’m being honest I might not have the fortitude to properly race at any racetrack! My hat is off to anyone who races competitively. Hands down my favorite track on the F1 circuit has to be Spa, so let's go for that! Plus it would be a great part of the world to go and visit. I’ve never been to Belgium.
  10. Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us? The funny thing is that whenever I get asked this question in any other setting the answer is always that I drive at, and instruct at High Performance Driving Events. For this crowd that’s not so surprising. One thing most people don’t know about me is that I met my wife in Yahoo Chat in 1998, back when the internet was just becoming something people had in their homes. I was in Oxfordshire England, she was in Upstate New York. I think I said something British and it piqued her interest. Within 15 months we were married and the rest, as they say, is history.
